Bizzell statement that in college ''The student is asked to take a certain distance on all of his or her Commitments, to weigh them against alternatives'' is correct. Any student who is enrolled in a college or university is expected to have their views both challenged and questioned. I also agree to a certain extent with the perception that students are able to remain loyal to their orginial world views before and after education. The reason being is that as you move on in your education you also grow as a person which may cause you to feel differently about things you were once set on. Before and Durning education you may feel a certain way then notcie your view slightly start to drift in the other direction after education. The reason for this is because through out your education you will become introduced to new ways of thinking in which you may adapt to. Students can adopt different world views from other sources while still remaining loyal to their own which is called "Playing both fields". i personally do not believe that there is anything wrong with playing both fields. I think being able to play both fields shows that you are well rounded and open minded and also relate to both sides of an arguement.
