Analytical skills are skills that can be applied to logical thinking and it is used to solve complex situations and make articulate decisions based on visualization.
If you only choose to use one then It is very much so that something can go over looked or unnoticed. So if If an employer is seeking for a employee with good problem solving skills, they are looking for  someone with both common sense AND analytical skills
Present Criteria

The most important criteria for a person with good analytical skills is being able to pay attention to detail. Analyzing is very important if you do not pay attention to the material then you will not be able to fully understand what the problem is therefore you won’t know the necessary precaution you need to use in order to solve it.
The most important criteria for a person with good common sense is being able to think logically. Common sense mainly has to do with experience so a person with good common sense must be able to go back and relate to these situations find out important details and information that helped solve the problem the first time all in a timely manner.
Both of these are the two main and highest ranking criteria and should be both used together in order to get the best out come.
Although one can argue that its possible that only one can be used, this is not true for every situation you are better off using them together to insure you have carefully considered everything the first time.

Logical thinking is a skill that must be used in order to have common sense.
The defenitions for common sense and analytical skills are not set in stone which means that they are subject to change or defined differently by each individual but the main key concepts remain the same. In class we agreed that the criteria was to broad to decide one 1 defintion.
Conditions of Rebuttal: Grounds The criteria is too flexible the definition is too diverse .
Conclude
Analytical skills and common sense both complement each other so it is necessary that they both are needed for good problem solving skills. Response to Blog Question 6

1.) Yes, I believe the allusions Didion used in her literature does have an effect on the reader. The allusions she uses changes the way they reader understands the writing. In my opinion it was both helpful and alienating. There were certain allusions I did comprehend which allowed me to understand the text better but there was also allusions that hindered me from knowing the concept like "pins in a babies diaper" that allusion threw me left field.
2.) "To have a sense of ones intrinsic worth which constitutes self respect is potentially to have everything; the ability to discriminate to love and to remain indifferent.", "self respect is discipline, the habit of mind that can never be faked but can be developed, trained, coaxed fourth." I believe that both these statements are based on assumptions that I can personally agree with. One the other hand I totally disagree with her perception on committing adultery and keeping it a secret. I say this with all respect and give credit to my morals for reasoning.

3.) I think they are both connected because just as self respect is a discipline or habit of mind so is the process of building writing skills. You must discipline your self in order to become successful and stay on track making it a habitat to improve your writing skills with discipline just as you would self respect.

Discussion Prompt 4 "Claiming an Education"

Question 1

First off let me say that this is one of the most influential pieces of literature I have ever came across and that these two particular paragraphs concur with all of my morals and beliefs. This passage can generally apply to anyone who has ever gone against the grain or contrary beliefs of others.  In this passage Rich gives examples of personal responsibilities such as pushing yourself forward and demanding that you be treated with respect. These qualities are not ones selective to a certain group or sex but in reality are life liberties in which every person has the right to obtain. Rich discusses ones personal responsibility  to their body and mind. She states how they are connected as one and that you can not have one without the other. This is a life value that relates to every being, male, female, black, white we all have a personal responsibility that we owe to protect our body and mind. In the second paragraph Rich discusses the responsibility one has to their work and studies and the commitment you must make to always do our best. This logic applies to everyone we must always strive to bring forth the best qualities that lye within ourselves rich or poor black or white we deserve it to ourselves.

Question 2

I believe that when Rich uses the term "ethical and intellectual contract" she is referring to situations  of moral and educational values. I believe that in class students agree to do their best and remain focused in their studies. I believe that teachers agree to teach to the best of their ability and to treat each student as an individual rather than a sterotype. The larger ethical goal is that they respect one another as people and encourage only the best from each other. The connection between ethical and intellectual concerns for both Rich and myself is that many of these values go overlooked and unpracticed.

#1 Discussion question pt2

Bizzell statement that in college ''The student is asked to take a certain distance on all of his or her Commitments, to weigh them against alternatives'' is correct. Any student who is enrolled in a college or university is expected to have their views both challenged and questioned. I also agree to a certain extent with the perception that students are able to remain loyal to their orginial world views before and after education. The reason being is that as you move on in your education you also grow as a person which may cause you to feel differently about things you were once set on. Before and Durning education you may feel a certain way then notcie your view slightly start to drift in the other direction after education. The reason for this is because through out your education you will become introduced to new ways of thinking in which you may adapt to. Students can adopt different world views from other sources while still remaining loyal to their own which is called "Playing both fields". i personally do not believe that there is anything wrong with playing both fields. I think being able to play both fields shows that you are well rounded and open minded and also relate to both sides of an arguement.

Response to #1 Discussion question

After reading “What Happens when Basic Writers come to College?” by Patricia Bizzell, I have concluded that I agree with Bizzells' perception that students can gain by not giving up their own world views when it comes to writing. There can be many benefits of drafting papers with ones view of the world in mind. Drafting papers with your own orginial view of the world can help you make a connection between the prompt and a personal exprience you may have gone through. Connecting on a personal level can help engage the writer in his/her work. It can also help you understand the plot of your writing being that you are able to relate to something familiar. Another benefit of drafting your papers such as Bizzell suggested is that it may  spark a connection between your writing and the reader. The person reading your writing may favor the same world views as you do which may lead to them reading more of your writings which benefits you as a writer.
